Glint

Photo by George Becker on Pexels.com

my ego as an egg
over easy
glistens yellow
yolk
breaks even
in spite of this
is eaten

my brain as a bishop
skirts
diagonal
passive battles
disinterest
keeps me
between tiles

my words
sharp tools
hardest bars
fall apart
you’ll see
when you catch that glimmer
know that’s me
