I’ll Cleanse the Bastard’s Curse

you got a bitch
fishing their pockets
for quarters

look over your shoulders
next time you come through here…
it won’t be safe

don’t panic
when you see them file in
keep eye contact
and whatever you do
don’t flinch
move towards
the nearest exit
in a timely fashion
and don’t wait
for someone
to say
something

i heard the sky is scheduled
for routine maintenance soon
and that means
lights out
until sunday

another from our little bird:
nobody knows which came first
but chickens were a mistake

don’t worry about
walking on eggshells
that’s just how it is here

any second and it’s lights out
where we are now
is lost foundation
based on circumstantial hearsay
we waived the right
to remain consistent
if only someone
would have listened
